Weight: 14.5kg
Favourite Foods: Spar viennas, green seedless grapes, rice with gravy, carrots and chicken. Oh, and his ever faithful Pringles of course!
Tayden is doing better since we have upped his medication for the reflux and is back to his happy, bubbly self for which we are truly grateful. I am also very grateful and blessed to have an angel who came to our rescue, let’s call her “Angel V” who donated some money towards Tayden’s medical bills and the special medication he now requires for the reflux. Thank you so much.
Tayden has been a real trooper through this
period, not too happy to have his stoma touched and prodded so often when he is not well, with medicine twice a day in addition to feeds but he has done extremely well and the medicine is doing what it should. As soon as we try to lower the dose to the proper maintenance level however, we are back to a gagging child, who won’t eat and drink. So we stay with the really high dose. All in all, his eating is increasing again and for that I am truly grateful.
But, this is a joyous update, and with Tayden
feeling better it is easy to see in his behaviour and actions. Potty training is going very well (about the 4th time lucky!) with almost no accidents at all during the day, although he still does have his nappy on during his nap and at night. Honestly, I do feel it is a bit mean to expect him to be potty trained at night if I am feeding him most days more than 600ml while he sleeps at night! LOL!
Today for us was a momentous occasion and while some people reading this may think it is such a small thing to make such a big deal of, we continue to celebrate each achievement with much joy. Tayden had his school concert today. Honestly – we didn’t even expect an appearance on stage from him and certainly didn’t expect him to actively partake in the programme. Well Tayden had a little trick up his sleeve – not only did he participate with
enthusiasm and vigor but he looked HAPPY doing it! I was blown away, daddy was speechless and granny almost in tears! Our little boy finally GOT IT – it is
fun to be at school, fun to participate and he CAN do it! He sang, he motioned, he jiggled, he jived, he giggled and even fished for Jesus….in English and
Afrikaans! LOL!
I just had to share some pics from his concert, hope you enjoy them as much as we did. We are making progress, today is a good day and so we
celebrate….
